About The Best Dog Treats

Thanks for visiting The Best Dog Treats!

This site was born out of a need and passion to give my dog only the best. If your dog is anything like mine, he or she is a member of the family and we love to shower them with love and affection and pamper them with toys and yummy treats.

Shopping for awesome dog stuff that lives up to our expectations can be tough; there are just way too many options out there! But, I love to see what’s available, compare and scrutinize. This site is a portal to share the information we gather with you.

Lulu and my daughters

Me and my Dogs

My name is Lynne and like many of you I grew up with a dog as part of our family. He was a little toy poodle named Tippy and I loved that dog with every fiber of my being. A favorite memory is when my mother would send Tippy in to wake me in the morning. I could hear him super excited and barking outside of my door and she was getting him riled up to come in, jump on my bed, and slather me with kisses. But as soon as my mother opened the door he jumped into bed; curled up in the crook of my knees; and went to sleep. A fail for mom but a score for me and Tippy.

Maui

I am now a slightly older adult (age will not be revealed) and have a golden retriever named Maui. Prior to Maui was my first golden named Lulu.

Lulu was an exceptionally beautiful and intelligent dog but unfortunately had several medical conditions. Throughout her life, it was critically important that I feed her healthy foods that contained no chemicals, preservatives, artificial colors, or anything that could aggravate her already strained physical condition. This is when the importance of being conscious of what I fed my dog became glaringly obvious.

Enlightenment

Lulu was a service dog and we did some practice training every day. Not only did she get her daily 2 meals but she enjoyed several treats throughout the day when training. Prior to Lulu, I had never really been very concerned about what ingredients were in dog treats. In my mind, they were just extra little snacks for dogs to enjoy.

With the number of treats Lulu received during training on top of my needing to be ever so aware of what she ate, I realized her main food was not the only food which I needed to be concerned. I became enlightened to the fact that I needed to be just as conscientious about the ingredients in her treats as I was about the ingredients in her food.
