How To Choose The Best Dog Treats?

First, Does your dog even need treats?

A lot of people think that dog treats should only be used for training.  Others think that their furry friend should have a couple nice snacks each day.  Personally, I don’t think there is anything wrong with rewarding your dog every once in a while.  Natural dog treats don’t have any additives or chemicals in them.  They are made as healthy as possible.  So if your not sure how healthy it is to give your dog treats, i would look into natural dog treats for sure.

I would love to know what you think about giving your dog a treat!  Feel free to leave a comment!

How To Choose The Best Dog Treats?

If you have been into any major pet store lately, you know that there are hundreds of different brands and varieties of dog treats. If you are a dog owner, you may be asking “what is the best treat to get for my dog”? There are many factors to consider when choosing the best dog treat for your best friend.

One major factor I always look at first is the protein content of the dog treat. Protein is very important in keeping a healthy active dog. The protein from the treats help build and maintain muscle and promote active play. Another major factor to consider is the cost. There are many dog treats that i think are way to expensive for what they are. This is where you have to read what the product offers and decide if it is worth the price. You are also going to have to decide what type you want to buy. There are many different varieties from Rawhide bones to beef sticks to simple, old fashioned biscuits. I personally think that the beef sticks (also come in chicken, bacon, pork, etc) are the best dog treats for my dog. They are his favorite treat out of all of them that I have tried.

If your dog has a habit of licking furniture (like mine), a nice flavored rawhide bone can do wonders. Now, instead of licking on the couch, my dog will lick his chicken flavored rawhide treat! No more couches smelling like dog breath! If your dog has strong teeth, then i believe the classic biscuit bone is the way to go. Honestly, the only way that your going to find the best treat for your dog is to try different brands and experiment with them. Your dog may like them all!

Dog food is another subject that many people could use a little learning on. It is just as important to choose a nutritious, cost effective food for your dog as it is to choose the best dog treat. There are also many different types of food that you need to choose from. My dog is 14 years old with very bad teeth, so we get him a nice senior blend that is made for bad teeth and old dogs. He loves the taste, and it is easy for him to chew. It is also very healthy for his coat, heart, and liver.

Choosing the best dog treats can be a hard task. Before you choose a treat for your best buddy, please take a little time to educate yourself on the importance of choosing a healthy, tasty treat for your dog.
