TruPet, LLC has issued a voluntary recall of certain Treat Me Crunchy Beef Delight treats due to possible contamination with Salmonella. This dog treat recall was issued after the Michigan Department of Agriculture detected Salmonella in a retail bag of these treats.

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) indicates the recall affects Treat Me Crunchy Beef Delight treats with a lot number of 20190514 13753. You can find this lot number printed on the bag.

Where They Were Sold

These Treat Me Crunchy Beef Delight treats were sold on and and come in 2.5 ounce packages.


Salmonella is a very common bacteria that is found in the intestines of animals. Foods handled improperly can be contaminated with bacteria such as Salmonella. Chicken is a common example of this and is commonly contaminated with Salmonella.  If you handle contaminated food you can then spread that bacteria by touching other things with your contaminated hands.

Some animals eating the contaminated treats may not exhibit symptoms but could still infect other animals or humans, so keep an eye on your dog’s furry and human friends as well.

  • nausea
  • vomiting
  • diarrhea or bloody diarrhea
  • abdominal pain
  • fever

Severe human Salmonella infections can cause:

  • arterial infections
  • endocarditis
  • arthritis
  • muscle pain
  • eye irritation
  • urinary tract symptoms
